Malko is designed with your privacy in mind. Your bedtime settings, journal entries, and reflections stay on your device. The limited data we do collect is described below.
Malko uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, ManagedSettings) to manage app restrictions during bedtime. These APIs are privacy-preserving by design — Malko cannot see which specific apps you use or for how long, and your selection of apps to block never leaves your device.
Your bedtime schedule, dream journal entries, reflections, and other settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this content and it is not uploaded to our servers.
Malko uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the app is used — such as which screens are viewed and which features are used — so we can improve it. TelemetryDeck is designed to be anonymous: it does not collect personal identifiers, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your data.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user identifier along with purchase and transaction information in order to deliver and restore your purchases. It does not receive your name from us.
If you choose to send feedback from within the app, the message you write — along with the email address you provide and basic technical details (app version, iOS version, device model, and locale) — is sent to us so we can respond and diagnose issues. This information is used only to handle your request.
